Our Specialties & Services
We are trained in a wide variety of theoretical models and evidence-based interventions to help facilitate the development of your best self.
We Work With Individuals, Couples, Families, & Teams

Counseling/Psychotherapy
Do you ever feel too overwhelmed to deal with your problems? In psychotherapy, I provide a supportive environment to individuals, couples and families that allows you to talk openly with someone who’s objective, neutral and nonjudgmental. Don’t keep on struggling – empower yourself to thrive!

Neurofeedback
Your brain generates electrical signatures called the electroencephalogram (EEG). These electrical signatures can be irregular and contribute to your negative experiences. If you can’t make changes no matter how hard you try it might be because you’re wired that way. Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, painless learning process of re-training those signatures to alleviate symptoms and perform ideally.

Sport/Performance Enhancement
The focus of sport and performance consulting is development and implementation of strategies to reach your goals of enhanced performance and personal satisfaction. I help you address life balance, job performance and satisfaction, or general conditions in your life, business, or profession. You learn personal strategic planning, values clarification and other techniques to perform at new levels.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is an experiential form of intervention where horses are involved in the sessions. You will be involved in hands-on experiences with the horses designed to reflect things going on in your life. The process is about providing you the opportunity to experience, explore, problem-solve, discover, be creative, gain insight and experience practical applications of what you are learning in the moment. The process is about “doing” along with the “talking.”

Expressive Arts Therapy
Expressive arts therapy is the use of the creative arts as a form of growth, learning and therapy. Unlike traditional art expression, the process of creation is emphasized rather than the final product. Expressive arts is predicated on the assumption that you learn and grow through use of imagination and the various forms of creative expression and metaphor. This therapy is so fun you sometimes forget all of your cares as much as you are resolving them!

Mindfulness
The founder of mindfulness, Jon Kabat-Zinn defines it as “paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment”. Mindfulness also involves ignoring intruding thoughts and feelings which sometimes come to us when we are trying to concentrate on the task at hand. However instead of wasting energy using tools to get rid of unwanted thoughts, mindfulness teaches that more energy could be invested in other desired areas. Practicing mindful exercises results in improved mental and physical performance, decreased stress and anxiety and overall increased happiness and joy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
We are not paneled with any insurance company. Thus, we do not accept any insurance. We will collect payment in full from you at the time of service. If you have a PPO type plan and want to submit a claim for out-of-network reimbursement, we can give you a superbill to facilitate any reimbursement you may be entitled to. Please note that submitting an insurance claim means we will need to give you a mental health diagnosis.
How long do appointments last?
Appointments are typically 50-55 minutes. With prior scheduling we can go longer or shorter as indicated.
How often do we meet?
For most services we meet once per week or once every two weeks in the beginning. After being established we tailor to your needs. Some services, like Neurofeedback, we recommend meeting twice per week for ideal outcomes.
What happens in the first session?
The initial session is the time for you to start to share your story, talk about your goals and what you would like to change. Another important aspect of the first session is deciding if we are a good fit. Do I seem like someone you can trust? We are establishing a relationship that will become the foundation for working together. You will begin to figure out some goals; I will begin to figure out how to help you get there.
Do you provide phone or video sessions?
Absolutely! We’ve been working with clients all over the world for decades so video and phone are very comfortable. If you are not local, or due to COVID-19, or just prefer to not meet in person that is completely possible.
What is the cancellation policy?
We require 24 hours notice of cancellation or you will need to pay for the appointment. An occasional an exception may be made in the case of an emergency. It’s important that we meet consistently in order to make progress.
Do you prescribe medication?
No, we are not medical doctors. Many of my clients find medication is helpful, but many of them also progress well in therapy without medication. If you want to be evaluated for medication, either contact your primary care physician or we can make a referal. If you are already taking medication, we can coordinate care with your provider.
What kind of approach or therapy do you use?
We implement a number of theoretical orientations because we don’t think a single approach fits everyone. Each of the providers utilize different modalities and models and you can look at their profile and bio to learn more.
