Kimberly Bettie, BS
Student Counseling Intern
My name is Kim. Starting therapy is a courageous decision. My style is person-centered, focused on creating a welcoming space and supportive connection as we explore your strengths, challenges, and goals. My therapeutic approach is biopsychosocial, considering physical, psychological, and environmental factors to support your well-being. If you wish, I can also integrate your spiritual or religious practices into the therapeutic process.
I use evidence-based methods like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on helping you decide if a problem requires immediate action or if it must be accepted for what it is while you make behavioral changes to modify the situation; Selection, Optimization, and Compensation (SOC), which is about identifying your goals, leveraging strengths and adapting to life’s changes; Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps to reframe unhelpful thought patterns and develop new habits; and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), which centers on making small, achievable steps and exploring hope for the future. Family systems are at the heart of my therapeutic advocacy. I am passionate about providing psychoeducation and practical tools to build a support system as one pursues mental health and well-being goals.
Your path toward mental health and well-being is unique and meaningful. We work together to create a plan that fits your needs, whether you want short-term or long-term support. I would be honored to partner with you on this journey.
